 the world

 on fire

 all tables

 turned toward

 the light
 last night

 coming and going
 a song began
 in the palm
 of his constant
hands

 dreaming, I was
 tentacled across

 a long body
 of merging breaths

 chest to chest
 six golden stories
 were told, without
words,

 only dream song

 they opened up
 a trail along my
skin
 that was
 swelled and baited

 where tongues
 traveled and
landed
 anywhere
 everywhere

 he found me
 slipping slowly
 through the
essence
 of absolute
presence

 and he too saw

 how the world
 was on fire

sing to me

in others' words

I, a poet

a woman

left

surreptitiously

askew,

at the edge

of this creep

heart

spilling

bitter

sweet

truths

unchangeable

not

even

rearrangeable

yet

the connection

lingers, still

as much as

the way

you spoke

my unspoken

intently

gently

hewed

words

a trembling

lover

coming

to you

as if

for the very

first time

 piles of desire
 everywhere
 sea of garments

 lingering laughter
 your voice
 hanging still

 you went down
 on your knees
 in the entree

 continued
 looking, following
 alive eyes

 til I came
 shaking over
 with a melting
kiss

 and sealed
 the fucking
 amazing deal
